Quickie Transformation-Spindle Shelf

April 25, 2014

Spindle Shelf

I think everyone has had one of these shelves at one time or another. Outdated? Yes, but not without possibilities.
A simple change is all I gave it, but it made quite a difference.

A coat of light green, then sanded for shabbiness.

But I wasn’t finished. I mixed white and green paint, along with white pearl. After watering down that mixture, I washed the whole surface. I still wasn’t completely happy with the outcome, so I added one last layer of white dry brushing.

Enjoy!

  1. Yeah, think maybe most of us have had a shelf like that. Amazing what paint does isn’t it? Looks really cute for maybe a bathroom for towels, toiletries, on porch for plants? The colors and paint techniques you used make it quite “now”. Great job. Are you going to keep it or sell it?
We’ve been updating some of our tables to lighten up our living room. For some reason I was in a dark table phase but now want tables lightened up. Got some little side table with stained top and light grey rest of it. What a difference on how the table looks lightened up. Now for the rest of it……Think I’m going for beach shabby chic?
    Happy weekend
