Crocheted Owl Tutorial

March 20, 2013

They’re Back!

I’m always amazed at how trends today are often trends of years past that have cycled back into popularity.

When were owls popular? Was it the 70s?

That trend wasn’t lost on my family. We had lots of owl knick-knacks decorating our home. My favorite was the ceramic owl cookie jar. The fat tummy of that owl held some really yummy cookie treats throughout my childhood.

So here’s my treat. I’m a giver again.

The free tutorial for my crocheted owl can be found on FaveCrafts.

He whips up super quick by crocheting each of his parts in the round. Best yet, he’s a great way to use up all your yarn scraps. Who says owls have to be natural colors?

You can find the tutorial here.

Enjoy!

  1. Very cute! I think it was the 70’s when owls were popular. I have found quite a few vintage owl items that seem to sell quickly in my shop. I have a daughter and granddaughter crazy over them!
