Shabby Chic Framed Chalkboard
I found this frame and painting in a free box at a yard sale. It had issues. The painting wasn’t even in the frame. I loved the frame’s shape, but the painting…not so much. I took both parts because the board fit the frame and I knew I could reuse it as something else.
A chalkboard is born. I flipped the board over and painted the back with chalkboard paint.
The frame color didn’t appeal to me either. I painted it white and sanded it to distress.
I loved the look when I finally put them back together. Since the painting was showing on the back I covered the back with brown paper. I also moved the hanger so that the longest area of the chalkboard was hanging horizontally.
I liked it, but it was a bit boring until I added a burlap bow.
Free art with a purpose!
Enjoy!
